Sophie Samuel-Staude is an emerging designer and artist working across photography, printmaking, textiles, sound and moving image. Her practice explores interspecies communication, anticipating the potential of curiosity, wonder and an endeavour to make kin with the more-than-human worlds around us. Through processes of listening and co-creation, Sophie's recent work considers the fragility of endangered voices and their material presence etched through our landscapes.
Working between art and landscape architecture, Sophie is interested in the entangled relationships between humans and non-humans, and the environments we share.
Sophie is currently studying at The University of Western Australia, completing a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Honours) with a second major in Fine Arts.
